The Hour was my first book. It's about my attempt on the world Hour Record, and how that record had been a roll call of the greatest, the best and the most imaginative riders since the earliest days of bike racing.
In Faster I look at what makes a fast bike rider, and what it's like to be one. It deals with the physiology, the psychology, the training, and the giving over of your whole life to an obsession about going faster.
Re:Cyclists is a history of cyclists, from the very dawn of cycling in 1816 till the present day. Everything from Victorian circus acts with lions, to the very strange story of 20th Century British bike-racing.
Further is about ultra racing, and what it takes to ride for days or weeks across a country or across a continent against a watch that never stops.
